Self-published authors - please email us a short synopsis of your book with ISBN and cover price information. Do not send your book without our approval first, unsolicited works will be donated.
If you have published via Create Space (or an Amazon imprint) please understand that you are asking us, an independent bookseller, to do business with Amazon, the very company intent on driving us out of business. We do not do business with Create Space and with very few exceptions we do not stock their titles. That said, IF an author is published through those channels and we decide to carry their book (usually because their book has a local aspect that makes the pros outweigh the con) we will only acquire it directly from the author, on consignment, at a 40% discount.
We will accept 2-6 copies of titles we feel our customers will have interest in for a period of 3 months.
The shelving fee is $10 and is non-refundable
All freight to and from The Book Oasis is the responsibility of the author.
We will pay you 60% of the selling price.
Payments to authors are made quarterly in March, June, September and December. Please refrain from frequent visits to receive payment or check sales.
If your book doesn't sell well after 3 months, we will contact you to remove/pick up any remaining copies. Copies left after 30 days will be donated.

Encourage friends, family, and other contacts to purchase your book at The Book Oasis.
Do not mention Amazon sales when visiting your local bookstore!
Do not give away copies to your family and friends (they should want to buy your hard work).
Contact your local media and mailing lists to announce that your book is available at The Book Oasis.
Send out press releases, review copies, and other promotional materials.
Get involved with book clubs, libraries, and other community organizations. Greater success comes from a wide array of author-coordinated promotion.
