We sell books in our brick and mortar store as well as other online venues, so please understand if the book you want is not immediately available. We will try very hard to keep this at a minimum, but it does take time to remove a sold item from all venues.

Payment Methods Accepted
Online Payments: 
We accept most major credit cards- Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and Debit Card through PayPal. PayPal is the most secure method of payment because your private credit information is not shared with anyone, including us.

Payment by Check or Money Order:
If you prefer to pay for your order by mailing us a check or Money Order, please do the following:
1) Create an account at TheBookOasis.com
2) Place the books you would like to order in your "shopping cart."
3) Email us your "shopping cart" by clicking on the "Email Shopping Cart To A Friend" option located on your shopping cart page. Type in our email address   thebookoasis311 (at) yahoo.com 

4) When we receive the emailed shopping cart, we will send you an email confirmation and the total amount due.
                 You can then send a check/money order to:

 Your order will be shipped out to you after we receive your check/money order and the payment is cleared through our bank (usually 5-7 days).

Shipping Methods:
We will ship your order via USPS Media Mail unless another method is selected at checkout. Media Mail takes between 5 and 20 business days (not including Sat & Sun). This is a general time frame and cannot be guaranteed. You may contact us if you haven't received your order within 15 BUSINESS days. We have no control over the package once we've left it at the post office, you may wish to purchase insurance if the order has a value over $25 (only a suggestion, you may purchase insurance for any value).
The price for the first book is $3.50 and .75 for each additional book. Oversized books may require extra postage and we will contact you if this is the case.
Priority Mail takes between 3 and 5 days to most locations. Delivery confirmation will be included free of charge with your Priority shipment.

Discounts (from list price)
Book Clubs ordering 5 or more copies of the same title in the same order receive a discount of 15 - 20% depending on cover price.

Teachers with school IDs will receive a 15-20% discount on new books depending on cover price. They may ask to use Teacher Credit on used copies if available at the time of purchase. We are happy to offer schools (PTOs) a discount of 15 to 20% (depending on cover price) on new books purchased for author visits.

Librarians - Are you currently going to Barnes and Noble to stock your school library? We will happily meet their 20% discount, and bump it up to 25% if you 5 or more of the same title in the one order. The pluses - you save on travel, shipping and you're supporting an independent bookstore with your money instead of a corporate giant. We will have the books, as long as they are in print and available from our distributors in 3-5 days. Do you have a library WISH LIST? We can create a page on our website just for your school so parents can purchase books for your library quickly and easily. They can pick them up at the store and save time and shipping costs, or we can call you when books are purchased for your school.

Book Fairs
If your school would like to host a Shopping Night fundraiser at The Book Oasis:
1. Choose a night, Tuesday through Friday, and we will donate 20% of our sales from 5 pm to 7:30 pm to your school's PTO

2. Make sure you send out an email blast at least a week before and another few days before your event

3. You may want to send something home with the students, many parents are overwhelmed with emails

4. We will post your event on our Home Page and in our Newsletter

Books Signings
We would be happy to host a book signing to promote your book, especially if it is a new release hasn't been promoted nearby (the library or senior center etc.). Call us!

Self-published authors
We are happy to carry your books!
We will accept 2-6 copies of any title for a period of 6 months.
All freight to and from The Book Oasis is the responsibility of the author.
We will pay you 75% of the selling price on sales rung through the register.
Payments to authors are made quarterly in March, June, September and December. Please refrain from frequent visits to receive payment or check sales.
If we don't sell your books well in 6 months, we will contact you to remove/pick up any remaining copies. Copies left after 30 days will be donated.

SUCCESSFUL CONSIGNMENT TIPS (courtesy of Changing Hands Bookstore) 

  • Encourage friends, family, and other contacts to purchase your book at The Book Oasis.
  • Contact your local media and mailing lists to announce that your book is available at The Book Oasis.
  • Send out press releases, review copies, and other promotional materials.
  • Get involved with book clubs, libraries, and other community organizations. Greater success comes from a wide array of author-coordinated promotion.
